Carbon fiber is a strong material, but is still susceptible to breaking and cracking. If this happens, repairing carbon fiber rings is straightforward--apply more clear coat to the rings so that they adhere to each other again. The additional clear coat also reinforces the rings to prevent them from breaking again in the future.
Place the cracked carbon fiber rings on a flat surface and apply light pressure to the rings using your hands to close the gaps between the cracks in the carbon fiber surface.
Lightly sand down the surface of the rings if they are no longer flush when you push them together. Apply light pressure as you sand down until the surfaces are even.
Apply a light coat of clear coat to the rings while you are applying light pressure to the rings. Allow the clear coat to dry before applying additional coats as needed.
